Professor Jr-Shin Li recognized by National Science Foundation

Electrical and Systems Engineering Assistant Professor Jr-Shin Li is a recent recipient of a National Science Foundation Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award. This honor recognizes a young researcher's dual commitment to research and education. Professor Li's research incorporates forefront concepts that will open new areas in both engineering and medicine.

In his research, Professor Li will continue to investigate a new class of control problems arising from emerging physical and biological applications. He plans to develop new control techniques to study controllability and optimal control of these problems.

Professor Li joined the Department of Electrical and Systems Engineering as an assistant professor in September 2006. He received his Ph.D. degree in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University in June 2006.
