The School of Engineering is pleased to announce the 2008 Dean's Awards for innovation and excellence in undergraduate teaching and advising. Student teaching evaluations for spring and fall of 2007 played a role in the selection of the teaching awards.
2008 Dean's Awards for Innovation in Teaching
Ken Goldman, Computer Science & Engineering, the recipient of a $562,000 grant from the National Science Foundation, is working with faculty from his department and other Schools to cultivate "active learning" in computer science.
Frank Yin, Biomedical Engineering, for developing and leading the School's first faculty led international program for undergraduates, thereby establishing a wonderful model that others in the School are emulating.
Sandra Matteucci, Engineering Writing Program, for developing an exciting new course focusing on St. Louis writers for Engineering's new Academic Summer Program.
