New Associate Director of Development

Erin Pennington joined the Engineering Alumni and Development staff earlier this month as a new Associate Director of Development. Erin was previously the Director of Alumni and Donor Relations for the College of Technology at Purdue University. Prior to Purdue, Erin served as a business sales manager for Omni Hotels in Indianapolis, IN. Erin graduated with a communications degree in 2002 from Hanover College in Southern Indiana. She is a native of Kennebunk, Maine.

New Director of Graduate Studies in Information Systems Management

Associate Dean Errol Sandler announced Johnnie Foster will serve as Director, Graduate Studies in Information Systems Management with the Sever Institute of Continuing Studies in the School of Engineering and Applied Science. Johnnie will lead the Center for the Application of Information Technology (CAIT). He will work closely with industry leaders in the St. Louis metropolitan area to assure Sever Institute of Continuing Studies programs are in line with their needs.

John Berra (EN '69), president of Emerson Process Management, was one of six Washington University Alumni honored for outstanding contributions to their profession, society and alma mater.

Obituary: Charles Morgan Wolfe

Professor Emeritus of Electrical Engineering Charles Wolfe died on October 18, 2008. Charlie, who will always be remembered by those who knew and loved him, as a unique-minded, fun-loving and mischievous soul, will be recognized by many for his dedication to advanced research and education in the general field of Electrical Engineering. He was Professor Emeritus of Electrical Engineering at Washington University from 1975 to 1997. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes any memorials be made to Washington University School of Electrical Engineering.
