Engineering Topics
Bachelor's degree programs accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) require that the program require a minimum of 1 1/2 years of "Engineering Topics."
Definitions:
One and one-half years is defined as 3/8 of the total number of units required for the particular degree, with a maximum of 48 units.
The number of engineering topics units assigned to a course is the sum of the course's engineering science units and engineering design units:
Engineering topics units = Engineering Design units + Engineering Science units
