Biography
Professor Sridharan has been a professor at Washington University in St. Louis since 1980. He has published over 70 articles on stability of thin-walled structures, nonlinear mode interaction in composite plate and shell structures and failure analysis of composite materials in archival journals. His research has received support from NASA, ONR, Boeing, and the National Science Foundation and is applicable in the design of civil, naval, and aerospace structural systems. Professor Sridharan is a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers and is a P.E. (Professional Engineer) registered in the state of Missouri.
Research
The current research interests of Professor Sridharan include structural stability of sandwich and laminated composites, delamination failure under impact and modeling nonlinear and visco-elastic response using micro-mechanical models and Piezo-electric control of structures prone to instability.
