Vitaly A. Klyachko, PhD, assistant professor of cell biology and physiology and of biomedical engineering, has received a five-year, $1,690,595 grant from the National Institutes of Neurological Disorders and Stroke for research titled “Multiple Roles of RMRP in Synaptic Function and Plasticity.”
Professor Klyachko's research is focused on synaptic function and plasticity with the goal of understanding how neural circuits analyze information in the brain. His work has important implications to neurological disorders such as mental retardation and Alzheimer’s disease.
