Successful Networking: Making Meaningful Career Connections

Understanding how to "network" (meet and connect with people) is useful if you want to build professional relationships. At this session, we will walk you through the art of networking and demonstrate the skills you need to do it well. In preparation for upcoming career networking events, graduate students attending this session will be able to:

  • Identify and set a networking goal for your next event
  • Deliver an effective personal pitch by learning and practicing the anatomy of an introduction
  • Discuss connection strategies, including eye contact, body language, and how to enter and exit conversations
  • Maintain professional relationships through exchanging information and following up
