Hong Chen's research focuses on medical ultrasound. Her goal is to develop ultrasound-based image-guided drug delivery platforms for cancer therapy through combining the diagnostic and therapeutic functions of ultrasound, integrating physical acoustics with the development of medical ultrasound devices, and bridging basic and translational research.
Hong Chen joined the WashU faculty in 2015 as an assistant professor of biomedical engineering in the School of Engineering & Applied Science and of radiation oncology at the School of Medicine from Columbia University, where she was a postdoctoral research scientist in the Department of Biomedical Engineering.
