Trent Silbaugh joined the department of Energy, Environmental & Chemical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis in January 2018. Prior to this appointment, he was a postdoctoral fellow and lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Michigan from 2014 to 2017. While at the University of Michigan, he taught undergraduate courses in Process Dynamics and Control, Reaction Engineering, and Fluid Dynamics as well as participated in research projects focused on heterogeneous catalysis and carbon capture and conversion in the group of Mark A. Barteau. He earned his PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Washington under Charles T. Campbell working in the area of experimental surface science.
