Where did you complete your undergraduate degree?
Bahonar University in Iran
What played into your decision to get a graduate engineering degree?
The research opportunities in wide areas such as computational neuroscience, signal processing, optimization, control theory and imaging. I also wanted to advance my career, since a graduate degree can open up a wider array of career options and higher potential for future promotions. I wanted to work on advanced projects and contribute to a chain of knowledge.
Why did you pick WashU?
I picked WashU because of its diverse areas of research in its Department of Electrical & Systems Engineering and its beautiful campus.
What was your favorite course and why?
"Artificial Intelligence," "Computational Neuroscience" and "Optimization." These courses provided me with invaluable theoretical and practical foundations.
Who is your favorite instructor and why?
Dr. Roman Garnett. He teaches the essential concepts very well.
What advice would you give to a new student?
Whatever you vividly imagine, ardently desire, sincerely believe and enthusiastically act upon must inevitably come to pass.

WashU’s campus.

Continue my research as a research scientist in industry.
