Please provide your lab and description of research.
In the AIM Lab we design and implement ultra-low power and self-powered microelectronics for systems instrumentation. We design smart sensors for bio-applications, non-conventional power transfer design, structures health monitoring and other electronic systems.

Where did you complete your undergraduate degree?
College of Engineering at Baghdad University

What played into your decision to get a graduate engineering degree?
I would like to touch the edges of science and technology, and put my stamp on the world's new technologies that help society in many different areas.

Why did you pick WashU?
Because it is a great research environment for me. I can reach the top through it.

What was your favorite course and why?
Quantum optics, because the professor, J.T. Shen, was a wonderful lecturer. He made it so I could easily digest the heavy course and new things that I couldn't understand before.

What advice would you give to a new student?
Don't be afraid to engage in hard work because that will give you great opportunities later on when you want a job or to continue working on research development.
