TechShop, the first international do-it-yourself workshop, is opening at the end of August a new shop in the Cortex Innovation Community at the corner of Boyle and Duncan (4260 Forest Park Ave., St. Louis, MO 63110). TechShop will be open for making seven days a week from 9:00 AM to midnight.
Washington University is excited to announce a partnership with TechShop that includes discounted memberships available to all University faculty, students and staff.
TechShop provides access to wide array of high quality machines, tools and design software, and over 75 in-depth training courses to teach equipment use and develop new skills.
TechShop was founded in 2006 as the first membership-based workshop and fabrication studio of its kind. The workshop provides access to wide array of high quality machines, tools and design software, and over 75 in-depth training courses to teach equipment use and develop new skills.
The new maker space will also accommodate custom team building events and well-equipped meeting space for its members.
Washington University faculty, students and staff can apply for one of the school-purchased memberships for classroom or educational purposes, laboratory research, and/or personal use. Requests for research and personal use will be awarded through a lottery system.
