Biography
Jim Ballard inaugurated the undergraduate course in Technical Writing in the mid-1970s as well as an undergraduate course, Engineering Practice and Professional Values, and a graduate course in Engineering Communications. He founded the Technical Communication Center, now known as the Engineering Communication Center. Today he primarily consults for the Engineering Communication Center, with outreach to all the departments in McKelvey Engineering, where faculty members and graduate students request his expertise in reviewing publications and grant applications.
