Develops algorithms to extract knowledge from massive amount of data
Yixin Chen's research interests are in the general areas of nonlinear optimization, artificial intelligence, data warehousing and data mining. He is particularly interested in large-scale constrained nonlinear optimization in discrete, continuous and mixed-integer spaces.
In September 2005, Professor Chen joined the faculty at Washington University in St. Louis. He has a number of awards including the Microsoft Research New Faculty Fellowship and the Department of Energy Early Career Principal Investigator Award. Professor Chen also serves his professional societies as a programming committee member, fund reviewer and National Science Foundation review panelist.
