Achilefu elected to AIMBE College of Fellows

Samuel Achilefu joins the more than 2,000 professionals who represent the top 2 percent of the medical and biological engineering field

Samuel Achilefu, an affiliated faculty member with the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, was elected to the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering College of Fellows. Achilefu is the Michel M. Ter-Pogossian Endowed Chair in Radiology and director of the Molecular Imaging Center at the School of Medicine.

More than 2,000 members have been inducted into AIMBE’s College of Fellows, and they represent the top 2 percent of the medical and biological engineering community. Fellows work to fulfill the organization’s mission to provide medical and biological engineering innovation to benefit humanity.

Earlier this year, Achilefu was named the first recipient of the Breast Cancer Research Program Distinguished Investigator Award from the U.S. Department of Defense.
