Alumnus Wang wins award for dissertation in aerosol research
Alumnus and postdoctoral researcher Yang Wang has received an award for his doctoral dissertation from the Association for Aerosol Research
Yang Wang, assistant professor at Missouri University of Science & Technology, has been selected to receive the GAeF PhD Award from the Gesellschaft für Aerosolforschung (GAeF), or the Association for Aerosol Research, based in Germany.
The award, given to a maximum of two early-career scientists annually, recognizes internationally successful young scientists whose ideas have provided decisive stimulus in their area of aerosol research and who are recognized as outstanding among their peers in their field. Wang will receive the award at the association's General Assembly in Sweden in August.
Wang earned a doctorate in energy, environmental & chemical engineering from the McKelvey School of Engineering in 2017 working under Pratim Biswas, the Lucy and Stanley Lopata Professor, assistant vice chancellor and department chair. He then engaged in postdoctoral research at Brookhaven National Laboratory under Jian Wang, now a professor of energy, environmental & chemical engineering in the McKelvey School, then moved to Washington University with Jian Wang to continue his postdoctoral work.
