Nehorai, alumnus win IEEE best paper award

Mianzhi Wang, a 2018 alumnus of the McKelvey School of Engineering, won the IEEE Signal Processing Society’s 2019 Young Author Best Paper Award

Mianzhi Wang, who earned a doctorate in electrical engineering from the McKelvey School of Engineering in 2018, received the IEEE Signal Processing Society’s 2019 Young Author Best Paper Award.
 
His paper, "Coarrays, MUSIC, and the Cramér Rao bound," was co-written by Arye Nehorai, the Eugene & Martha Lohman Professor of Electrical Engineering. Nehorai was Wang’s doctoral and dissertation adviser. The paper has received more than 100 citations since its publication in February 2017.
