Develops ultrasound-based image-guided drug delivery techniques


Hong Chen's research focuses on medical ultrasound. Her goal is to develop ultrasound-based image-guided drug delivery platforms for cancer therapy through combining the diagnostic and therapeutic functions of ultrasound, integrating physical acoustics with the development of medical ultrasound devices, and bridging basic and translational research.


Professor Hong Chen joined Washington University in St. Louis in July 2015. She earned her Ph.D. degree in Bioengineering from the University of Washington in 2011. After graduation, she worked as a senior fellow in the School of Medicine at the University of Washington. From 2012 to 2015, she was a postdoctoral research scientist in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University.
