Below is a list of course related software available to McKelvey faculty. McKelvey full licenses for all software listed in the Recommended column, most of which will integrate with Canvas. Faculty are also welcome to explore the other tools, but we cannot guarantee their availability.

Kaltura guides

Kaltura - Kaltura is an easy-to-use full featured video platform. It will allow you to record, edit, share, caption, and search video content through Canvas. It also provides detailed analytics, in-video discussions, and video quizzing.

Screen-cast-o-matic, Camtasia

I want my grading to be faster and more consistent.

Gradescope - Gradescope uses a AI-assisted grading to speed up your grading. It's rubric system allows multiple grades to create a consistent grading scheme that allows detailed feedback even in large courses or on handwritten work. Students get quicker results and instructors get detailed per-question and per-rubric analytics.

Canvas Speedgrader

I want to better measure student understanding during class.

PollEverywhere - Poll Everywhere transforms one-sided presentations into two-way conversations with the audience. This web-based audience response system lets you embed interactive activities directly into your presentation. The audience responds on the web or via SMS texting on their phones.

Google Forms, Qualtrics, Canvas quizzes

I want to hold virtual office hours and video conferences.

Zoom guides

Zoom - Zoom facilitates video conferences on any device and any platform. You can easily share content, co-annotate your presentation with students or Tas, and record sessions.

Canvas conferences, Microsoft Teams

I need students to securely record lab data and share it with collaborators.

LabArchive - LabArchive is an electronic research notebook that supports federal data management requirements while allowing collaboration and grading.

Microsoft OneNote
